189 Ukrainians returned from captivity during the eleventh exchange in 2024.
Among those released:
87 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (17 of them from the TRO),
43 from the NGU,
33 from the BGSU,
24 from the Navy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are the defenders of Azovstal, Mariupol, Chernobyl, Zmeiny Island, as well as fighters from different frontline areas. Two civilians captured in Mariupol also returned home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of them spent more than two and a half years in captivity, suffering from severe injuries, the effects of mine-blast trauma and exacerbated chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange took place with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
