The resupply of Ukrainian troops in Myrnohrad is difficult, but the supply lines are operational, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Andriy Kovalyov told Ukrainska Pravda on Monday. Reports of the Ukrainian supply lines being fully within range of Russian weapons and claims of the city\u2019s operative encirclement are untrue, he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c[Ukrainian troops] continue to defend the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration. The situation remains difficult and dynamic. The enemy deploys all available reserves, but only takes huge losses. Ukrainian units in Myrnohrad are firmly holding their positions and are destroying Russian occupying forces on the approaches to the city,\u201d Kovalyov said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The units defending the city have just been resupplied with weapons and munitions, he said. Troops were rotated in and out, and the wounded were evacuated. Likewise, the garrison in Pokrovsk is being resupplied and rotated, Kovalyov added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ukraine is countering Russian infantry\u2019s attempts to consolidate positions inside Pokrovsk. Ukrainian troops are searching and destroying enemy positions in the built-up area, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a report on Sunday, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that Russian forces are successfully interdicting Ukrainian logistics into Myrnohrad. ISW also said it observed no evidence to assess that Russian forces made additional advances in the Pokrovsk direction on November 9, consistent with recent Ukrainian reporting that Russian forces have slowed their tempo of ground activity in the Pokrovsk direction to extend logistics and bring up reinforcements to southern Pokrovsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A source reportedly affiliated with Ukrainian military intelligence reported on November 8 that Russian forces are in most areas of Pokrovsk but cannot encircle the town because Russian forces are only conducting infiltration missions in and through Pokrovsk from southern Pokrovsk, ISW said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The source stated that Russian forces are bringing mortar crews and additional drone operators into Pokrovsk to intensify the interdiction efforts against Ukrainian ground lines of communication (GLOCs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russia launched a major drone and missile attack overnight on November 7 to 8, targeting Ukraine\u2019s energy infrastructure. It fired a total of 458 drones and 45 missiles, including 32 ballistic missiles. Ukrainian forces shot down or otherwise neutralized 406 drones and nine missiles, the Air Force said. Twenty-six missiles and 52 drones hit target in 25 locations and the falling debris fell in four other places, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russia targeted energy sites in the regions of Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava, Kharkiv and Dnipro, Ukraine\u2019s Energy Ministry said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state energy company Centrenergo said two facilities it runs \u2014 the Zmiyiv thermal power plant in Kharkiv region and the Trypillya thermal power plant in Kyiv region halted operation following Russia\u2019s overnight attacks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russia targeted substations that power the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants, Ukraine\u2019s Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack was one of the most difficult for Ukraine\u2019s energy sector since the invasion, Ukraine\u2019s Energy Minister, Svitlana Hrynchuk said on national television on November 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rolling power cuts were enforced on Monday. The outages were to be rotated across two to four groups of consumers. Power cuts were also scheduled for the industrial sector and businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overnight on Monday, Russia launched a total of 67 drones and seven missiles, including two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles and five S-300\/S-400 surface-to-air missiles. Ukrainian forces shot down or otherwise neutralized 52 drones, the Air Force said. Fifteen drones hit target in nine locations, while the effects of missile strikes were being clarified, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ukraine does not reject peace, it rejects capitulation disguised as peace, former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and current ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said in a column for the New York Post published on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
