Russia breached Easter ceasefire more than 10,000 times, Ukraine says<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s military recorded 107 combat engagements across the frontline on Sunday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a post to social media on Monday morning. Russia broke an Easter ceasefire more than 10,700 times, it added.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThroughout the announced ceasefire arrangement, no missile strikes, airstrikes or strikes with one-way attack drones of the Shahed\/Gerbera type were recorded. Yet the adversary carried out 1,567 artillery attacks on our troops\u2019 positions, 119 assault actions and 9,035 drone strikes that included 2,205 strikes with the use of Italmas, Lantset and Molniya drones and 6,830 attacks with FPV drones,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c[Ukraine\u2019s armed forces] recorded a total of 10,721 ceasefire violations by the adversary since the truce was announced,\u201d the General Staff added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russian forces do not adhere to the Easter ceasefire and are using it to strengthen their positions, Ukrainian open-source mapping project DeepState said on Sunday evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs was expected, there is no complete ceasefire even on Easter day. [The Russians] are repeating the last year, using the truce in areas where it\u2019s beneficial for them in order to improve their positions,\u201d DeepState said in a post to social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analysts cited the Ukrainian General Staff as saying that Russia had broken the ceasefire more than 2,000 times as of Sunday morning. Russian forces continue assault operations in some areas, trying to capture the Ukrainian positions there. Ukrainian troops respond with fire and take out the adversary. Artillery strikes, airstrikes and attacks with different types of drones do not stop, DeepState added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russian forces are using ceasefire in some sections of the frontline to evacuate the wounded and killed, get munitions, rotate troops and reinforce their positions. Wherever these actions are in place, they do not conduct assault operations, but send groups with white flags. This is particularly true for the Hulyaipole direction, DeepState said, adding that the assault actions are expected to intensify there after the ceasefire ends.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia is once again demonstrating that its word doesn\u2019t worth the paper it\u2019s written on, the analysts said. Ukraine\u2019s defense forces are responding in kind to the ceasefire violations, they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, commented on the election results in Hungary by saying: \u201cWe congratulate the Hungarian people on today\u2019s democratic, transparent, and historic parliamentary elections. The record high turnout reflects a turning point for Hungary. We wish the winners, P\u00e9ter Magyar and the TISZA party, every success in fulfilling the Hungarian people\u2019s expectations.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that Ukraine is ready to develop \u201cbeneficial cooperation\u201d with the country, \u201cfind solutions to old problems, and open a new chapter for the benefit of both nations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are open to working together to ensure European standards for our respective national minorities \u2014 Hungarian in Ukraine and Ukrainian in Hungary. Ukraine and Hungary deserve to be good neighbours, partners, and friends,\u201d Sybiha said on X on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia resumes attacks on railways<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Russia launched an attack on railway infrastructure in the region of Dnipro on Monday morning, Ukraine\u2019s railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia resumed attacks after a short-lived respite, it added.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis morning, thanks to well-coordinated work of the monitoring center of aerial threats and Ukrzaliznytsia\u2019s locomotive brigades, a suburban train was stopped in time and passengers were evacuated,\u201d the company said in a statement on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monitoring center identified a threat in time and warned the locomotive crews of a suburban and cargo trains that were within range of the potential threat about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suburban train stopped at the nearest station allowing for an evacuation of around 500 passengers. The locomotive crew left the cabin of the cargo train before Russia struck close to the train\u2019s locomotive, Ukrzaliznytsia said.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
