Kyiv, October 24, 2015<\/strong><\/em>. Ukrainian troops finished the first stage of withdrawing military equipment and weaponry, including tanks, in the Donetsk sector, said spokesperson of the Administration of the President of Ukraine on ATO-related issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo militant provocations were recorded in Shyrokyne yesterday, when militants fired randomly at ATO troops\u2019 positions using light arms and grenade launchers,\u201d said Col. Lysenko. He elaborated that in general the situation in the ATO zone remains stable. According to the information collected, Russian troops retreated from the frontline and settled on the both sides of the section of the border temporarily uncontrolled by Ukraine. Nevertheless, militant drills continue and weapons are still being brought in from Russia. Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in the past 24 hours and no Ukrainian troops were wounded in combat. Nevertheless, a local inhabitant tripped a wire near Berezove in Volnovakha district. \u201cDoctors are fighting for the man\u2019s life at present,\u201d added Col. Lysenko.<\/p>\n

Col. Lysenko said that nine trucks carrying humanitarian aid from charity organizations proceeded to the temporarily uncontrolled territory through Novotroyitske and Zaitseve checkpoints. The situation gets more complicated as militants are exerting systematic pressure upon international missions working in the east of Ukraine, namely the United Nations and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Moreover, militants banned the activity of \u2018Doctors Without Borders\u2019 international organization on the insurgent-controlled territory with no good reason.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian Special Services detained a number of people actively cooperating with the self-proclaimed \u2018Luhansk People\u2019s Republic\u2019 (LPR) and \u2018Donetsk People\u2019s Republic\u2019 (DPR). \u201cUkraine\u2019s Security Service detained a former traffic police officer, who was a militant informant, in Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region,\u201d said Col. Lysenko. \u201cMobile terminals he used to communicate with militant groups and over 11,000 USD were seized while searching the detained man\u2019s possessions.\u201d A militant from self-proclaimed \u2018DPR\u2019 was detained in Zaporizhzhia, and a \u2018secretary\u2019 of the \u2018Molodaia Respublika\u2019 (Young Republic) separatist organization, which trains militants, was arrested in Kyiv region. \u201cThis so-called \u2018secretary\u2019 turned out to be visiting Moscow regularly for reporting and getting new instructions,\u201d said the spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Special Services found weapons caches with tank projectiles and grenade launchers in Donetsk region. \u201cOne cache was found in Berdianske, Volnovakha district, where 14 missiles and 14 warheads for 125mm tank cannons were seized. Another \u2018arsenal\u2019 was discovered in an abandoned house in Artemivsk. Law enforcement officers found two hand anti-tank grenades, nine ball grenades, ammunition for an under-barrel grenade launcher and cartridges of various caliber,\u201d said Col. Lysenko.<\/p>\n
