Kyiv, May 24, 2016.<\/strong> <\/em>Over the past day 7 Ukrainian servicemen were killed and 9 \u2013 wounded as a result of combat operations in the in the ATO area This was informed by Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Presidential Administration spokesperson on ATO related issues at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “Ukrainian troops suffered these heavy losses in all sectors,” he added.<\/p>\n

In Mariupol sector, militants fired on the Ukrainian positions 36 times, 10 times \u2013 with a mortar. “Invaders continue systematic and powerful attacks on the Ukrainian positions on all fronts. The main hot spots are Maryinka, Berezove, Pavlopil and Hnutove,” noted Colonel Motuzyanyk.<\/p>\n

Donetsk sector, militants fired 7 times, once – with a mortar. Avdiivka remains the main hot spot. “In the evening, around 19:00, intensive shelling began in the Avdiivka industrial zone from Yasynovata direction. Overall, the fighting lasted about 7 hours almost uninterruptedly,” informed the Presidential Administration spokesperson on ATO related issues. In Svitlodarsk arc sector, militants violated the ceasefire several times at Svitlodarsk arc and near Horlivka. In Luhansk sector, militants fired on the ATO forces positions 4 times on various fronts.<\/p>\n

According to the State Border Service of Ukraine, 9 reconnaissance flights of the enemy drones were recorded in the \u200b\u200bATO area yesterday. The General Defense Intelligence of Ukraine also reports that some days ago mines for 82- and 120-mm mortars and rounds for light anti-tank grenade launchers were transported by 8 trucks for the units of militants deployed near Yasynovata and Spartak. “Besides, on May 21-22, forty five refuellers were moved through Sverdlovsk to the city of Rovenky in Luhansk region. It should be pointed out that it is just Rovenky where a fuel and lubricant storage base of the so-called “2nd army corps of the LPR\u201d is located,” noted the spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Motuzyanyk also informed that the police found two boxes with TNT bombs of 45 kg total weight in Velyka Novosilka (Yasynovata district, Donetsk region). The boxes with weapons were found in an abandoned private house.<\/p>\n
