Kyiv,\u00a0June\u00a012, 2016.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Avdiivka, the vicinity of\u00a0Horlivka\u00a0and\u00a0Luhanske\u00a0village at the\u00a0Svitlodarsk\u00a0bulge remained the main \u201cflashpoints\u201d in the ATO zone yesterday. \u201cMilitants are actively using mortar and artillery systems, violating the Minsk agreements. In total, the enemy launched 576 mortar shells and 266 artillery missiles,\u201d\u00a0informed the spokesman of the Presidential Administration on ATO related issues Colonel\u00a0OleksandrMotuzyanyk\u00a0at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.\u00a0Apart from heavy armor, militants were shooting from armored personnel carriers\u00a0(APC), anti-aircraft mounts, grenade launchers, large machine guns and small arms. A child was wounded in\u00a0Avdiivka\u00a0as a result o militants\u2019 shelling. \u201cUkrainian troops took the boy to hospital in time and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening,\u201d said Col.\u00a0Motuzyanyk.<\/p>\n

Militants used 82-mm and 120-mm mortar launchers, as well as grenade launchers,\u00a0machine\u00a0guns and small arms in the Mariupol sector near\u00a0Krasnohorivka\u00a0and\u00a0Mariinka. \u201cMoreover, militants located in the occupied\u00a0Dokuchaievsk\u00a0shelled Ukrainian positions near\u00a0Berevoce\u00a0and\u00a0Novotroitske\u00a0using mortar launchers. Occupants launched the total of 82 mortar shells,\u201d informed the spokesman. Russia-backed militant groups used large machine guns, grenade launchers and small arms near\u00a0Taramchuk\u00a0and\u00a0Vodiane, and an APC was used near\u00a0Hranitne.<\/p>\n

Russia-backed militant groups shelled Ukrainian positions near\u00a0Novooleksandrivka\u00a0in the Luhansk sector. \u201cMilitants used small arms and grenade launchers. Moreover, one sniper\u2019s attack took place,\u201d elaborated Col.\u00a0Motuzyanyk. Another provocation took place near\u00a0Novozvanivka.<\/p>\n

\u201cUkrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in combat in the past 24 hours, 12 troops were wounded,\u201d informed the spokesman. According to the available information, militants lost 5 people killed and 12 wounded from four different subdivisions.<\/p>\n

Col.\u00a0Motuzyanyk\u00a0also informed that Ukrainian military intelligence registered new acts of supply of ammunition for self-proclaimed \u201cLuhansk people\u2019s republic\u201d and \u201cDonetsk people\u2019s republic\u201d from the territory of Russia. \u201cA column consisting of 70 trucks was loaded ammunition in Russian town of Donetsk, Rostov oblast, and proceeded through\u00a0Izvaryne\u00a0towards\u00a0Krasnodon,\u201d he informed.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian law enforcements detained a\u00a0Druzhkivka\u00a0inhabitant who had joined militants in May 2014 and was keeping watch at checkpoints carrying arms. Moreover, a\u00a0Krasnohorivka\u00a0inhabitant was detained. He is a militant of\u00a0Vostok\u00a0Russia-backed militant group and had joined it in July 2014.<\/p>\n
