Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry disproves the information distributed by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) as to the involvement of the Main Intelligence Department of Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry in subversive activities in the territory of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.<\/p>\n

Such statements presented by the FSB are nothing but an attempt to justify re-deployment and aggressive actions of the Russian Federation military units in the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula.<\/p>\n

In such a way representatives of the Russian Security Service try to distract the attention of Crimea\u2019s residents and of the international community from illegal activities set to turn the peninsula into an isolated military base.<\/p>\n

The accusations of a presumed attack upon the peninsula conducted from mainland Ukraine\u00a0are\u00a0also\u00a0groundless.<\/p>\n

Crimea has been and remains Ukraine\u2019s land, its residents are Ukraine\u2019s citizens.<\/p>\n

[16:09]<\/strong> General Staff of Ukraine\u2019s Armed Forces disproves the statement of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation as to elimination of the Ukrainian intelligence network that was allegedly preparing terror acts on the peninsula. Vladyslav Seleznyov, spokesman of the General Staff, told Radio Liberty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He once again called the claims of the Russian side \u201ca provocation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FSB was waiting for four days, then the information that was circulating in social networks appeared. Yesterday representative of the Main Intelligence Department of Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry Vadym Skibitsky made a statement that on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea the FSB is holding antiterrorist exercises. It is quite possible that the statement (by the Russia\u2019s FSB) is part of the information component of these exercises,\u201d Seleznyov said.<\/p>\n

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, Head of Ukraine\u2019s Security and Defense Council in a statement<\/a> released on Wednesday, not a single staff member of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry has been detained in the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea over the past year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis provocative nonsense of FSB [Federal Security Service\u00a0of the Russian Federation – UCMC note] is an element of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against our country,\u201d emphasized the Head of Ukraine\u2019s Security and Defense Council.<\/p>\n
