Security situation on the contact line remains unstable. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1618767-bezpekova-situatsiya-na-liniji-zitknennya-na-donbasi-pogirshuetsya-obse.html\">OSCE<\/a> SMM reported deterioration of security situation on the contact line. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1620987-na-donbasi-zagostrilasya-situatsiya-boyoviki-rizko-narostili-vognevu-aktivnist.html\">Last Saturday<\/a> Ukrainian side reported on considerable intensification of combat actions with the use of heavy artillery (122-mm and 152-mm) in all sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Russia-led forces made a total of 317 attacks upon Ukrainian troops over the last week. Four Ukrainian servicemen were killed in action and 19 were wounded in action over the period in question. Three civilians were killed over the last week (30- and 55-year-old men in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1620291-u-donetskiy-oblasti-v-rezultati-artobstrilu-boyovikiv-zaginuv-mirniy-jitel.html\">Novhorodske<\/a>, and a 30-year old man in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1613776-boyoviki-obstrilyali-z-artileriji-toretsk-zaginuv-mirniy-jitel.html\">Toretsk<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>OSCE.<\/strong> <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1619042-sposterigachi-obse-stali-svidkami-zapeklih-bojiv-na-donbasi-vprodovj-ostannih-dniv-hug.html\">Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE<\/a> Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug reported that OSCE monitors witnessed fierce combat in Donbas: last week over the three days (on November 7-9) monitors registered over four thousand ceasefire violations, over the last week the violations were seven thousand.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Weapons supply from Russia.<\/strong> <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1620441-tanki-artileriya-ta-palivo-rosiya-perekidae-viyska-na-donbas.html\">Russia continues<\/a> supplying weapons to the temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine. On November 11 another consignment of tanks, 14 self-propelled artillery systems and fuel for them were brought, said spokesman of the Ministry of Defense on ATO-related issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1618557-zahopleni-perepravi-ta-taemni-skladi-yak-rf-pidtrimuvala-boyovikiv-protyagom-dvoh-rokiv-foto-video.html\">Seized border crossing point and secret supply depots<\/a>: how Russia has been sending supplies to militants for over two years. Huge army supplies are being transported in Donbas by railway from Russia. Respective video was recorded by a satellite camera, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GlasnostGone\/status\/798256193835630592\">reports<\/a> GlasnostGone. Over 2014-2016 Russia has been supplying military equipment and weapons through the seized border crossing point in Marynivka, Donetsk region. Thus, Russian cargo trains unloaded over 100 military vehicles in Sukhodilsk, they were then transported to the supply depot that before seizure served as a Ukrainian army base. Additionally, photos of a secret supply depot in Ruske were released (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?time_continue=1&amp;v=wpeqYh-mh7s\">video<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong> OSINT investigation.<\/strong> <\/em>Volunteers from the OSINT (open source intelligence) Ukrainian group <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1619372-volonteri-nazvali-imena-artileristiv-odnieji-z-baz-zs-rf-prichetnih-do-obstrilu-teritoriy-ukrajini-infografika-foto.html\">Informnapalm<\/a> identified and named Russian military involved in the attacks on Ukraine\u2019s territory in 2014. The new investigation sought to discover and identify Russian military \u2013 artillerists of the 7th military base (military base no.09332, Georgia, the city of Gudauta in Russia-occupied Abkhasia) of the 49th army unit of Russia\u2019s Southern military district. As part of the combined rocket artillery division the unit was taking part in attacks upon Ukrainian cities, villages and positions of Ukrainian troops between the end of August and December 2014. OSINT investigators identified 21 out of the 35 military of this unit (<a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/28600-opoznany-artilleristy-7-v-b\/\">investigation<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Elimination of militant Motorola: new accusations of the \u201cDPR\u201d.<\/strong> <\/em>Representatives of the self-proclaimed \u201cDonetsk People\u2019s Republic\u201d (\u201cDPR\u201d) claim that the Head of Ukraine\u2019s Security Service in Donetsk region <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1616651-u-dnr-znayshli-vinnogo-u-likvidatsiji-terorista-motoroli.html\">Vitaliy Marykov<\/a> is involved in the murder of the Russian militant with nom de guerre Motorola (Arsen Pavlov). They say another alleged organizer of the murder is the Head of Ukraine\u2019s Security Service in Luhansk region <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1618997-u-dnr-nazvali-imena-likvidatoriv-terorista-motoroli.html\">Oleh Kozlovsky<\/a>. Militants claim they have detained actual killers of Motorola in Donetsk. According to them, these are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1620712-u-dnr-zayavili-pro-zatrimannya-chleniv-ugrupovannya-yake-vzyalo-na-sebe-vbivstvo-motoroli.html\">six active members<\/a> of the Ukrainian national organization \u201cMisanthropic Division\u201d who have allegedly confirmed their responsibility over the murder. They were allegedly ordered to do so by Ukraine\u2019s Security Service that also tasked them with organizing subversive actions. <a href=\"http:\/\/novosti.dn.ua\/news\/263285-v-misanthropic-division-otrycayut-zaderzhanye-ykh-chlenov-v-donecke\">Representatives of the \u201cMisanthropic Division\u201d<\/a> refute the accusations and reassure that they are not present in the uncontrolled area.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Exchange of prisoners.<\/strong> <\/em>Ukraine\u2019s Security Service is ready to accept compromises for exchange of captives and release of Ukrainian prisoners of war. Ukrainian side emphasized that it is even ready for prisoners\u2019 swap in the format one for three, said Advisor to the Head of Ukraine\u2019s Security Service <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1617391-gotovi-na-bud-yaki-kompromisi-v-sbu-rozpovili-pro-problemi-iz-obminom-zaruchnikiv.html\">Yuriy Tandit<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/war\/1617817-sbu-perevirit-novu-informatsiyu-pro-mistsya-trimannya-zaruchnikiv-tandit.html\">He emphasized<\/a> that since the start of the combat actions a total of 3083 persons had been found and liberated, 494 are on the missing list, 109 are held in militant captivity. The agency is also checking the information on the missing Ukrainian citizens in Russia who might be in custody there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ukraine\u2019s reaction to elections results in the USA<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><em><strong>Civil society and academic community.<\/strong> <\/em>Donald Trump\u2019s victory came as a shock to Ukrainian society. Trump\u2019s statements on Crimea as well as his sympathy with Russia and President Putin became subject to concern and vivid discussions in Ukrainian media.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>State officials.<\/strong> <\/em>In his comment on the results of the U.S. Presidential elections, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.president.gov.ua\/en\/news\/komentar-prezidenta-shodo-rezultativ-prezidentskih-viboriv-u-38700\">President of Ukraine<\/a> Petro Poroshenko noted that the elections are \u201ca symbol of real democracy when nobody knows what the results of the elections would be until the very last moment\u201d and invited Donald Trump to visit Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>One of the first Ukrainian politicians to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SaakashviliMikheil\/photos\/a.359679070729147.85805.260603653970023\/1341637222533322\/?type=3&amp;theater\">congratulated<\/a> Donald Trump was former head of Odesa regional state administration Mikheil Saakashvili. Over the last week he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SaakashviliMikheil\/photos\/a.359679070729147.85805.260603653970023\/1341637222533322\/?type=3&amp;theater\">actively expressing<\/a> support to the newly elected U.S. President as well as sharing memories on their friendship on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Volodymyr Groysman officially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/volodymyrgroysman\/photos\/a.149490445219878.1073741829.149481385220784\/457522814416638\/?type=3\">reacted<\/a> to Trump\u2019s victory, however, he never mentioned Trump\u2019s name itself in the message. Head of Ukraine\u2019s Parliament Andriy Parubiy also congratulated Trump <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/ukrainian\/politics\/2016\/11\/161109_trump_politicians_reaction_ukraine_vc\">calling his victory<\/a> \u201ca new reality and new opportunities for Ukraine\u201d. He reminded that Republicans have been usually supportive of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Politicians<\/strong><\/em>. The Opposition Bloc is preparing to observe the actions of Ukrainian authorities that \u201cwere humiliating and offending Trump just yesterday\u201d. Although, they never presented their congratulations and only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/OleksandrVilkul\/photos\/a.486363971455755.1073741838.475147705910715\/1200116763413802\/?type=3&amp;theater\">reminded<\/a> that Ukraine inflicted a reputational damage to Trump\u2019s election campaign due to the scandal with the <a href=\"https:\/\/uacrisis.org\/46231-black-ledger\">\u201cBlack book ledger\u201d of the Party of Regions<\/a>, where Trump\u2019s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Radical Party, Oleh Lyashko, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/O.Liashko\/posts\/1131282610273668?pnref=story\">said<\/a> he hopes that Donald Trump will not become Vladimir Putin\u2019s close ally as he was promising in his campaign and called the election results \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/O.Liashko\/posts\/1131669490234980\">shock therapy<\/a>\u201d. Representatives of Batkivshyna (Fatherland) party <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/ukrainian\/politics\/2016\/11\/161109_trump_politicians_reaction_ukraine_vc\">have no doubts<\/a> that partner relations with the U.S. will keep further growing stronger. Narodny Front (People\u2019s Front) also <a href=\"http:\/\/espreso.tv\/news\/2016\/11\/09\/ukrayina_rozrakhovuye_scho_ssha_prodovzhat_tysk_na_kreml_yacenyuk_pryvitav_trampa\">expressed their hope<\/a> for future cooperation and empowerment of civil society. Mustafa Nayyem, MP of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, jokingly <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mefimus\/status\/796242878842466304\">noted<\/a> that Ukraine is ready to share its experience on how to survive under a president-troublemaker.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Combatting corruption: new wave of resignations<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>Ukraine\u2019s National Police Head, Khatia Dekanoidze, <a href=\"http:\/\/hromadske.ua\/posts\/holova-natspolitsii-khatiia-dekanoidze-ide-u-vidstavku\">resigns<\/a>. Vadym Troyan (current Police Head of Kyiv region) is due to become the acting National Police Head. Dekanoidze was appointed Head of Ukraine\u2019s National Police on November 5, 2015. Before that Georgian-born official served as an advisor to the Head of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Odesa Customs Yuliya Marushevska has also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unian.ua\/politics\/1622331-nachalnik-odeskoji-mitnitsi-marushevska-yde-z-posadi.html\">filed<\/a> a resignation claim. Speaking at a briefing she explained her resignation with reluctance of authorities to reform customs administration in Odesa region.<\/p>\n<p>On November 7 <a href=\"http:\/\/hromadske.ua\/posts\/nachalnyk-odeskoi-politsii-lortkipanidze-podav-u-vidstavku\">Police Head in Odesa region Giorgi Lortkipanidze<\/a> also presented his resignation. It happened on the same day that the <a href=\"http:\/\/hromadske.ua\/posts\/saakashvili-zaiavyv-pro-vidstavku-z-posta-holovy-odeskoi-oda\">Head of Odesa regional state administration Mikheil Saakashvili<\/a> resigned.<\/p>\n<p>Human rights: \u201cUkrainian subversives\u201d in Crimea and the case of a Mejlis leader<\/p>\n<p>On November 9 Russia\u2019s Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on the alleged detention of a \u201csubversive terrorist group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry\u201d that was planning \u201csubversive actions on objects of military and civilian infrastructure on the Crimean peninsula\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/uacrisis.org\/49312-mod-crimea\">UCMC material<\/a>). Russian Security Service voiced the names of the so-called \u201cUkrainian subversives\u201d detained in Sevastopol: Oleksiy Bessarabov, Dmytro Shtyblikov and Volodymyr Dudko. Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry refuted the presence of its military in the annexed peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>On November 10 a court in Sevastopol sentenced three Ukrainians to two months prison term. Later a video of the \u201cdetention\u201d of Ukrainians was released. \u201cRight Sector\u201d business cards and weapons were said to be found on them. Volunteers of an international OSINT community analyzed the video and identified that the weapons are not combat ones but the ones intended for <a href=\"https:\/\/informnapalm.org\/ua\/chergove-shou-fsb-rf\/\">strikeball<\/a>. They include two automatic rifles, a pistol, grenades and gas to fill in the weapons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ru.krymr.com\/a\/news\/28108125.html\">Mykhailo Honchar<\/a>, colleague of the detained Bessarabov and Shtyblikov, said that they were working as military experts in \u201cNomus\u201d analytical center. \u201cThey are well-known experts. If you google them, you will find their publications and comments. They are public figures. They fit badly into the ranks of spies and subversives,\u201d Honchar said.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second attempt of the peninsula\u2019s self-proclaimed authorities to accuse Ukraine of preparing subversive activities. First attempt took place in summer 2016.<\/p>\n<p>On November 14 Russia-controlled Supreme Court in Crimea will continue considering the hearing of the case of Akhtem Chyigoz, <a href=\"http:\/\/ru.krymr.com\/a\/news\/28114365.html\">Deputy Head of Mejlis<\/a>, representative and executive body of Crimean Tatars. Preliminary hearing did not take place as they failed to establish the connection with the detention center where Chyigoz is held.<\/p>\n<p>Chyigoz was detained in January 2015 for taking part in rally for support of Ukraine\u2019s territorial integrity on February 26, 2014. Russian authorities of the annexed peninsula charge the Crimean Tatar with organizing mass insurgency.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Crimea: Heating season and drugs problem<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>Kremlin-controlled Crimean authorities claim that they had started gas supply to the mainland Ukraine, namely to Henichesk in Kherson region. <a href=\"http:\/\/ru.krymr.com\/a\/news\/28112292.html\">Sergey Aksyonov<\/a>, head of the self-proclaimed Crimean authorities, says they have already supplied gas earlier this year and Ukraine owes them 18 million rubles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ru.krymr.com\/a\/news\/28112292.html\">Head of Henychesk district-level administration Oleksandr Vorobyov<\/a> does not confirm gas supplies from the annexed peninsula. \u201cThey [Crimean authorities] are so used to lying that they do not know what to tell the people, that\u2019s why they are saying that we need help.\u201d He also refuted gas supplies in the beginning of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Self-proclaimed authorities of the annexed peninsula have acknowledged topical the problem of the drug use among local youngsters. \u201cDistribution and use of drugs among young people has become daunting and requires joint decisive action,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/ru.krymr.com\/a\/news\/28113448.html\/\">Igor Mikhailichenko, deputy head of the Crimean Ministers\u2019 Council<\/a>. Few days earlier press-service of the Russian Prosecutor\u2019s Office in Sevastopol reported shutdown of a website that was used to sell drugs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Opinion polling: are internally displaced persons discriminated?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>As of October 24 Ukraine\u2019s Ministry for Social Policy registered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pravda.com.ua\/news\/2016\/10\/25\/7124755\/\">1\u00a0672\u00a0251 internally displaced persons<\/a> (IDPs) who moved from the occupied territories in eastern Ukraine and Russia-annexed Crimea.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv International Institute of Sociology survey shows that 61 percent of the IDPs do not experience biased attitude, while 3% constantly experience biased attitude, 11% of the interviewed experience it from time to time, 21% state they have experienced prejudice sporadically, while 5% found it hard to respond.<\/p>\n<p>Half of those who experience biased attitude said the attitude comes from colleagues or neighbors, 31% pointed at civil servants, 22% on employers, 10% at teachers or doctors, 4% at law enforcement staff.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Culture: Young Ukrainian animation; artist\u2019s take on decommunization<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span>Works of young Ukrainian animation film directors will be on show in Kyiv on November 18-20 at the 23rd International animation film festival \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/158251737975343\/\">KROK-2016: Back Home<\/a>\u201d. \u201cKROK\u201d festival is one of the most authoritative and long-standing animation festivals in Eastern Europe.
