Maryinka-Krasnogorivka, Pavlopil-Shyrokyne and Popasna area are the key flashpoints. Ukrainian troops incur no lethal casualties, three troops wounded<\/em><\/p>\n

Maryinka-Krasnogorivka area was the main hotspot in the east of Ukraine yesterday. \u201cMilitants three times used portable rocket launcher Grad-P (\u201cPartisan\u201d) when firing on our positions in Krasnogorivka,\u201d said Col. Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine spokesperson on ATO related issues at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. The Russia-backed militants were using machine guns, grenade launchers and snipers. Moreover, between 10 PM and midnight they launched 15 shells and over 110 mortar mines on Ukrainian positions. \u201cTwo residential houses in Krasnogorivka were damaged. According to preliminary information, there are no victims and wounded among civilians. Crossing point in Maryinka was interrupting its work during militants\u2019 attacks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\nTwo other ceasefire violations in the Mariupol sector took place in Novotroitkse. In Pavlopil-Shyrokyne area militants were using mostly small arms. However, they fired from artillery and mortars in Gnutovo and from mortars in Vodyane. \u201cIn total, militants violated the ceasefire 27 times in the Mariupol sector, seven of them involved the use of heavy weapons,\u201d summarized MOD spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Militants violated the ceasefire seven times in the Donetsk sector. The most intense attacks took place in Avdiivka. At dawn, militants were firing on Ukrainian positions from small arms during one hour. \u201cFor the second time they violated the ceasefire in the afternoon and were firing during three hours. They were using small arms and mortars,\u201d elaborated Col. Motuzyanyk. Moreover, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire two times on the Svitlodarsk bulge, during the last one they launched five mortar mines.<\/p>\n

Militants violated the ceasefire 14 times in the Luhansk sector, the majority of them took place in Popasna area. Two ceasefire violations involved the use of heavy weapons. For instance, militants twice opened fire from mortars. \u201cThe first mortar attack started at noon and continued during one hour. For the second time militants opened fire from mortars after the sunset. During three hours they launched more than 50 mortar mines,\u201d said Col. Motuzyanyk. Russia-backed militants also violated the ceasefire in Orikhive, on Bakhmutska road and in the vicinity of Zhovte village (Slovianoserbsk district).<\/p>\n

Ukrainian troops incurred no lethal casualties over the past 24 hours, three troops were wounded. \u201cOne servicemen was wounded in Troitske and one more in Avdiivka as a result of militants\u2019 fire. The third was wounded in the Luhansk sector,\u201d elaborated Col. Motuzyanyk.<\/p>\n

According to information of Ukrainian military intelligence, the Center for Information Operations of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of Russian Federation spreads information that there is risk of escalation of hostilities in the Luhansk region. They also accuse Ukrainian forces in alleged violations of Minsk agreements and international law.<\/p>\n
