Russia: how high a price can it afford to pay for pursuing the wrong path?

Though previously robust, Russia’s oil- and gas-based economy is approaching a dead end. As of Wednesday, January 14, the Russian ruble has lost over 40% of its value, at 65 to the US dollar, while Brent crude has declined by nearly 60% to less than 48 USD per barrel.
