Ministry of Defense: Ukrainian troops incur no casualties

Russia-backed militants committed five ceasefire violations in the ATO zone yesterday using mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Ukrainian troops did not return fire. Fortunately, Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties, reported Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO, at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Russian proxies delivered all five precision attacks in Donetsk sector. “The attacks started at midnight and ended after 15:00”, Colonel Motuzyanyk said. Militants attacked Ukrainian positions in Avdiivka area with machine guns and grenade launchers at night and shelled Ukrainian troops near Maryinka with 82-mm mortars in the morning. In the afternoon, Russia-backed militants used 82-mm mortars near Shakhta Butovka, and small arms and grenade launchers in Vodiane and Shyrokyne areas.

Moreover, Russia-backed militants also used Minsk-proscribed unmanned aerial vehicles in Svitlodarsk area and southern part of the ATO zone.
