ATO Staff spokesperson: since 6:00 p.m. December 3, Ukrainian positions were assaulted 14 times, involving use of prohibited 82mm mortar launchers

Kyiv, December 4, 2015. Militants were shooting at Ukrainian positions from 6:00 p.m., December 3 to 6:00 a.m. Fire attacks took place in the Donetsk, Artemivsk and Mariupol sectors, said ATO Staff spokesperson, Captain Leonid Matyukhin at a press briefing via Skype at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “Pro-Russian insurgents were shooting at Avdiivka, Opytne, Novhorodske and Pisky using grenade launchers and light arms. Militants were shelling Novhorodske at night for almost two hours using grenade launchers, light arms and 82-mm mortar launchers,” said the spokesperson. Pro-Russian groups also attacked Luhanske, Zaitseve and Shyrokyne using different grenade launchers and small arms. In total, there were 14 fire attacks in this period.

On December 3 Ukrainian positions were assaulted four times between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. “Militants delivered provocative fire upon Pisky and Luhanske using large machine guns and small arms. They also used various grenade launchers to provide accurate fire upon our positions in Mayorsk,” said the spokesperson.

Militants shot six times at Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk and Artemivsk sectors between 6:00 p.m. and midnight. “Insurgents used automatic grenade launchers and light arms to assault Opytne, Pisky, and the vicinity of Avdiivka. They assaulted at Mayorks and Artemove using under-barrel grenade launchers, large machine guns and light arms,” informed Captain Matiukhin. Militants also shot towards Pisky settlement twice using small arms.
