THE WEST ON EXIT POLLS RESULTS. ВВС, Deutsche Welle, The Guardian, ITV:
Journalists where focusing on the question of territorial integrity while commenting the reaction of western politicians. Overall, USA and Great Britain hailed the election while Germany expressed a “cautious optimism”.

According The White House statement, US President Barack Obama looks forward to work with the next president to support Ukraine’s sovereignty. It is for the first time The White House released a statement on the election campaign before official results have been announced.

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague hailed Ukrainian people with the historical presidential elections. “Today’s turnout shows the decisiveness of Ukrainian people to determine their own fate without outdoor interference. I regret that separatists by pretending to be “peaceful protestors” have limited the willingness of citizens of Donetsk and Luhansk regions to vote,” said William Hague.

German foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed a cautious optimism on the Ukrainian elections campaign. He stressed that the final report from the OSCE is needed to make final comments. Steinmeier calls for Russia to recognize the results if OSCE gives positive characteristics. He expects that international observers will finish their reports by Monday.
