Andriy Lysenko: Ukrainian special forces liberated captive “Cyborg”

Kyiv, 1 January 2015 – Within the last day illegal armed groups were seen intensifying their activities, numerous attempts to provoke Ukrainian servicemen and blame silence regime violation on them were spotted. “Yesterday Ukrainian special forces liberated one of the heroes-defenders of the Donetsk airport. While on vacation in a locality of Donetsk region our serviceman was abducted by bandits who planned to pass him to “DPR” terrorists for remuneration. As a result of a successful special operation law enforcers detained three criminals. Ukrainian serviceman who was tortured and suffered injuries was taken to the emergency care hospital in Mariupol, he is in a satisfactory condition now,” informed Colonel Andriy Lysenko, anti-terrorist operation (ATO) spokesman at a briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.    

As per the intelligence data disagreements among the militants are mounting fueled by subordination to different command centers and dissatisfaction with own financial provision. The flow of weapons, ammunition and mercenaries continues from the territory of the Russian Federation.

Militants keep conducting aerial reconnaissance using UAVs. Within the last day Ukrainian servicemen detected 5 UAVs: 4 at the Mariupol direction near Sartana, one more was spotted near Tryokhizbenka in Luhansk region.

Three Ukrainian servicemen got wounded within the last 24 hours, there are no killed in action.
