Ukraine strikes eight tankers of Russia’s shadow fleet overnight

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck eight tankers of Russia’s shadow fleet, a dry cargo ship and a ferry in the Azov Sea overnight, said Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Major Robert Brovdi who goes by the call sign Magyar in a post to social media on Tuesday. 

“All tankers have been identified. They are subject to international sanctions. Each has a deadweight of 7,000 tons and is 140 meters long. [They] were built between 2006 and 2012,” Brovdi said.

He named them as the Venera-3, Sanar-1, Sanar-17, Klymena, Teti, Aleksey Savrasov and Penelope. One more vessel is being identified. 

Ukraine’s defense forces struck 10 tankers in two days.

The Unmanned Systems Forces hit 58 “lawful targets” at operational depth in the occupied territories overnight on Tuesday, Brovdi said. 

In other news, Ukraine struck a military plant in Russia’s Bryansk that belongs to the Kremniy El group. The extent of the damage and results of the attack are being determined, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

The Kremniy El group is one of Russia’s main manufacturers of microelectronics. The facility produces microchips, power semiconductors and electronic components used in command-and-control systems, communications equipment, electronic warfare systems and weapons.

Ukraine’s defense forces also struck the Bryansk plant in the city of Seltsovo in Russia’s Bryansk region. There were four explosions near the factory. 

The Ukrainian military also hit an oil depot at the Belgorod air field. The results of the attacks are being determined, the General Staff said.

Two railroad bridges near Rozdolne and Ichki in Crimea were also hit. Russia is using them to supply its troops, transport military personnel, weapons and munitions, the Ukrainian General Staff said. 

The Ukrainian military also struck storage facilities that house materiel near Volnovakha and Yasynuvata in the occupied part of Donetsk region.  

Death toll from Russia’s drone and missile attack on Kyiv rises to 19 as rescue operation ends

The death toll from Russia’s Monday drone and missile attack on Kyiv rose to 19, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said on Tuesday. Sixty-one people, including seven children, were injured. The search and rescue operations in the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital were concluded on Tuesday. 

In the Darnytskyi district, the bodies of a 12-year-old boy and his mother were pulled from under the rubble overnight on Tuesday, Kyiv’s mayor, Vitaliy Klychko said. A total of 11 people were killed in the Russian attack on that site.     

Russia launched 351 drones and 68 missiles of various types toward Ukraine overnight on Monday. Ukraine’s air defenses shot down or otherwise neutralized 326 drones and 37 missiles. Twenty-nine ballistic and anti-ship missiles and 18 attack drones hit target in 34 locations. Drone debris fell in 16 other sites, Ukraine’s Air Force said.      

Zelenskyi arrives in Ankara for NATO summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in Ankara, Turkey on Tuesday for a NATO summit.

He is expected to give an address at the NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum, have a number of meetings and participate in the dinner for NATO member state leaders. U.S. President Donald Trump is also expected to attend the dinner, Ukrainian news site European Pravda said. The paragraphs below are quoted from the news piece.

Media previously reported that Trump will meet Zelenskyi on the sidelines of the NATO summit. 

It was reported that the final declaration of the NATO summit in Ankara on 7-8 July will include a statement that Russia poses a threat to Euro-Atlantic security, as well as a pledge by Alliance member states to provide Ukraine with €70 billion in military support per year in 2026-2027.

A NATO-Ukraine Council meeting at a level of foreign ministers will also take place during the NATO summit in Ankara on 7-8 July.
