Ukraine has officially adopted May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation alongside the Victory Day on May 9 for the first time in its history as an independent state. A range of events, flashmobs and ceremonies demonstrated the hospitality, openness and peacefulness of Ukrainians to the whole world.
