Ministry of Defense: Ukrainian Armed Forces incur no casualties

Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no casualties in combat in the last 24 hours, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense on ATO related issues Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Russia-backed militants instigated two armed provocations near Novozvanivka and two more near Lobacheve village in the Luhansk sector. Moreover, Ukrainian troops registered a ceasefire violation in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka and Stanytsia Luhanska. No heavy arms were used. Each provocation lasted not more than 10 minutes.

Militants opened fire from 82-mm mortar launchers at the Svitlodarsk bulge in the Donetsk sector, launching 16 shells at Ukrainian positions near Luhanske settlement. Militants were shooting from small arms and grenade launchers in the vicinity of Avdiivka and Horlivka perimeter. “Hostile mortar launchers were deployed in two places in the Mariupol sector – near Vodiane and Shyrokyne. In total, militants launched 30 mortar shells.  2/3 of hostile attacks and provocations yesterday took place in this area. Moreover, the situation was restless near Talakivka, Pavlopil and Hnutove village,” informed the spokesman.

According to Col. Motuzyanyk, the Security Service of Ukraine found two weapons caches near Vodiane village in Donetsk region and Syze village in Luhansk region. “An 100-mm artillery shell, six grenade charges, 19 grenades and over 7000 cartridges of various calibers were seized,” said Col. Motuzyanyk.
