Dmytro Shymkiv: People are to be with vision, values and relevant competencies – the key criteria in reforming the Presidential Administration

Kyiv, July 11, 2014 – Administration of the President of Ukraine will be reformed. Mechanics of the process are being discussed now. Changes will pertain to both processes functioning and staff issues. It was the information a newly appointed deputy head of the Presidential Administration Dmytro Shymkiv provided at his media briefing in Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “President Petro Poroshenko and Head of the Administration set a clear task for me to drive reforming processes in the Administration. It is about personnel, strategic communication, online government and other directions. We will thoroughly approach solution of this question”, – informed Dmytro Shymkiv.

Personnel issue is particularly pointed. Deputy head of the Presidential Administration emphasized that the issue of reforms calls for immediate decisions and quick results. “It is a difficult reform, but it is to be conducted. People are to have values, relevant competences, technical knowledge and experience. Today we face a task to demonstrate efficiency of new government, new authorities in support of what we were standing for at Maidan», – added Mr. Shymkiv. So far it is not about specific changes that will take place in the Administration of the President, active process of internal discussion of these changes is in progress.

Former Microsoft Ukraine General Manager Dmytro Shymkiv has been appointed to the position of the Presidential Administration deputy head for holding administrative, social and economic reforms. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects introduction of innovative methods of state agencies work organization from the newly appointed deputy head. “Everything pertaining to reforms implementation in the country is my task. It touches upon economics, fighting corruption, judiciary reform, deregulation, law enforcement body and state service», – added Dmytro Shymkiv.
