Radarom! – the campaign in support of Ukraine – will unite dedicated citizens and businesses in Lithuania for the third time. Together with Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV and Stiprūs Kartu, LRT invites you to keep making a difference and to buy drones and anti-drones produced in Lithuania and Ukraine.
The campaign will run from 3 to 24 February.
The Ukrainian army is in critical need of drones and anti-drones. Drones enable a rapid response to enemy attacks, facilitate intelligence gathering and perform other tasks, while anti-drones prevent the enemy from hitting troops or striking important targets. Ukraine needs to position itself as strongly as possible in the lead-up to potential peace talks.
Despite all the talk about peace negotiations, the war in Ukraine is far from over, and drones are urgently needed. We are proud that, over the past few years, the Lithuanian defence industry has developed advanced and highly effective drones and anti-drones. Together with our campaign partners, we decided that they should be a key highlight of Radarom! In this way, we will not only help Ukraine but also enhance our defence potential,” said Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė, Director General of LRT
Two-thirds of the funds raised through the campaign will be allocated to Lithuanian-made drones and anti-drones, one-third of the funds raised by Radarom! will be allocated to drones manufactured in Ukraine. The drones will be responsibly selected by Blue/Yellow, based on their extensive experience in this field.
“By giving a proportion of the money raised to purchase drones made in Ukraine, we will ensure that the support is used very swiftly. Drones in Ukraine can be handed over to troops right from the start of the campaign, and our organisation will keep the process running smoothly,” said Jonas Ohman, founder of Blue/Yellow.
The campaign will last for three weeks and will culminate in a special broadcast on LRT TV and radio channels and the LRT.lt portal on 23 February. The final concert will be aired on 23 February at 9 pm on LRT TV and the LRT.lt portal.
In 2023, Radarom! raised over €14 million, which was used to purchase 17 radars and 4 enhanced mobility vehicles for mobile radars, as well as to provide training to radar users in Ukraine. The remaining funds were spent on 69 anti-drone systems and their accessories for the defenders of Ukraine. It was perhaps the largest fundraising campaign in Lithuanian history.
Last year, the campaign raised €8,563,316, which was used to buy 1,141 safe-soldier packages. Each package included a night vision monocular, a laser sight and a custom anti-drone, produced by Lithuanian companies Brolis Semiconductors and NT Service. One such package costs €7,500.
