Resilience as a Foundation for Managing Future Crises

On 20 May 2025 at 2 p.m., a press conference will be held at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center (2 Khreshchatyk St., Kyiv) to mark the launch of the International Spring School Resilience League titled «Resilience and Governing the Future: Future Literacy for Improved Crisis Management,» which will take place on 21–23 May 2025 in the Kyiv region.

Resilience League is an international cooperation platform dedicated to developing expertise in building resilience to hybrid threats. Since 2016, the platform has organized various training events and information campaigns in the Baltic States and Ukraine.

The de-occupation of Crimea and other territories in Ukraine will trigger numerous long-term and complex processes of stabilization and reintegration — not only in physical and legal terms, but also in the information and socio-psychological domains.

The primary goal of the International Spring School is to thoroughly examine and reframe international experience and expertise in crisis foresight strategies, emergency response, societal resilience, and cohesion within the Ukrainian context. The aim is to facilitate cross-sectoral analysis of how these approaches can be applied in planning future actions in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories (particularly in Crimea) after their liberation.

During the event, participants will discuss key challenges for future crisis management both in Ukraine and across Europe. Particular attention will be given to the adaptation of international experience to the Ukrainian context — especially in planning and implementing policies and strategies for the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, such as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, following their liberation.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the NGOs Resilient Ukraine and School of Media Patriots, in partnership with the media initiative Crimea Daily, with support from the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea / Crimea Platform Office, the Council on Cognitive De-occupation of Crimea, and the Embassy of Estonia in Ukraine.
