This year, Ukraine joined the EU’s Interreg Europe programme for the first time. This is one of the largest and most dynamic Interreg programmes in the EU, which involves the exchange of experience, the application of best practices and the formulation and implementation of various policies at different levels in line with the objectives of the EU Cohesion Policy. For Ukraine, this participation has opened up the opportunity for all regions and communities to participate in all projects and competitions on an equal footing with other EU programme participants. Previously, such opportunities were available only to border regions within the framework of EU cross-border cooperation programmes.
The first call for proposals with Ukrainian participants attracted 48 applicants and confirmed 29 projects with our participation. For most of the Ukrainian participants, these were new challenges in finding partners, developing ideas, preparing application forms in accordance with EU Structural Funds regulations and the terms of the Interreg programmes.
On 13 January, we will hold a roundtable discussion ‘Results of the first Interreg Europe call for proposals for Ukraine’. We will discuss the participation, dynamics, challenges and benefits of the Programme for Ukrainian participants.Among the topics for discussion:
