On August 26, 2022, Ukraine Crisis Media Center (2 Khreshchatyk St., Kyiv) will host a public discussion “Local economic development as a basis for the food security of municipalities”, co-organized by the USAID HOVERLA Activity and the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
Local economic development can be the key to food security in times of war. Management decisions, adjustment of both growing and processing of food products, and pooling of human, financial, and technical resources – are the components that allow working effectively in times of crisis.
During the discussion, the participants of the event will discuss state and international programs, as well as mechanisms and tools for supporting local economic development in municipalities during the war.
Key issues of discussion:
- Government support programs for local economic development.
- International support programs for local economic development.
- Successful cases of implementation of local economic development programs at the municipal level.

Representatives of local self-government bodies and mass media need to register using the link to participate in the discussion online. All registered participants will receive a Zoom link.
