Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Disaster

38 years ago, at 1:23 a.m., the largest man-made accident in human history occurred – the fourth reactor of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded. The total radiation of isotopes released into the air amounted to 380 million curies of radioactive substances, which is several times more than the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima in 1945.

This day is a reminder of the invaluable feat of the people who gave their lives in the fight against this catastrophe. More than 600 thousand people were involved in the elimination of the accident itself and its consequences. Millions of people were affected by radiation. The city became uninhabitable.

Today, Russians continue to occupy the largest nuclear power plant in Europe – Zaporizhzhia NPP. Since 4 March 2022, the occupiers have been ignoring all safety and operational rules at the plant. Every day we are on the verge of a new catastrophe.

Chernobyl… A wound that will hurt forever. Eternal memory to the liquidators!
