Event Announcement: “How Russian Propaganda Attacks Ukraine’s European Integration: Bulgaria, Czechia, Poland, Romania”

On July 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM, a public discussion joined by international experts titled “How Russian Propaganda Attacks Ukraine’s European Integration: Bulgaria, Czechia, Poland, Romania” will be held.

The event is part of Ukraine Crisis Media Center’s project Paving Ukraine’s Path to the EU: Informational Dimensionwhich is supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.

  • Sonia Dymytrova-Martyniuk, Editor at StopFake Bulgaria;
  • Stanislav Zhelikhovskyi, PhD in political sciences, corresponding member of the Ukrainian Academy of Geopolitics and Geostrategy

Moderator: Volodymyr Solovian, Head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at Ukraine Crisis Media Center

At the event, the results of the expert survey Ukraine’s European integration in the Media Space of EU Countries” will be presented. Over 90 journalists, scientists, and experts in international politics and information security from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania and Czechia took part in the survey.

The Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group will also present findings from two expert discussions and two analytical notes on attempts to undermine Ukraine’s EU integration in the information spaces of Bulgaria, Romania, Czechia and Poland. The discussions took place in May and June, with the participation of experts from these countries.

Discussion Topics:

  • How can Ukraine promote EU integration in the information space of neighbouring countries?
  • Recommendations for the government and public sector include addressing the challenges of discrediting Ukraine’s EU integration in EU countries, citing examples from Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, and Czechia. Current status and medium-term challenges
  • Kremlin propaganda targets Ukrainian refugees in European Union countries
