Bosnia and Herzegovina faces what the experts deem the most serious crisis in the postwar period, as the Bosnian Serb leader Miroslav Dodik has been taking serious steps towards the secession of the Republika Srpska, the Bosnian Serb entity of the country.
The Kremlin has long supported the separatist rhetoric in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in attempts to destabilize the country and the whole Western Balkan region. Its strategic goal is to undermine euro-atlantic integration of the region’s countries, and it has been using a whole set of instruments to prevent the latter, which we summed up in our infographic.
