Russian propaganda systematically spreads fake news about mobilization in Ukraine to discredit the Ukrainian authorities and intimidate Ukrainians.
In particular, anonymous channels on Telegram positioning themselves as Ukrainian, have been spreading lies about “a new trend of Ukrainian men who received call-up papers injuring themselves to avoid mobilization”. This directly mirrors what the Russians really did to evade going to the front, and while there may be some issues with certain aspects of mobilization process in Ukraine, such fakes are baseless and only aim to cause dismay in Ukrainian society.
