Division of responsibility for Russia’s war against Ukraine between the Russian government and the Russian people does seem irrelevant when one takes a look at the opinion polls of Russians on the aggression towards Ukraine or widely proclaimed support of Putin’s crimes by Russian public figures.
The huge attendance of a pro-war rally at a Moscow stadium marking the 8th anniversary of Crimea occupation (some 200,000 acc. to officials) only reiterates this.
