Russian media were all too eager to add to the mass hysteria around new regulations concerning “The Best Picture” nominations from the Academy Awards.
Not only is Puskov, a Russian MP, overhyping here the mandatory nature of the rules and purposefully misinterpreting their meaning, but he also claims these are the signs of “propaganda in movies”.
All of this is coming from a country, which seems to be obsessed with producing movies that justify occupation of Crimea and Donbas as well as glorify Russia’s imperialist past.
