Mykolaiv: life under fire

Mykolaiv: life under fire. Ukraine in Flames #219

The nightmare of the large-scale war Mykolaiv hasn’t stopped even for a day. Being close to the front line, the city is being shelled by Russian troops day and night. After eight months of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Mykolaiv residents steeled in the struggle for survival. Now, they know the difference between missile and artillery strikes and how to live without a water supply.

With industry and infrastructure destroyed, the majority of citizens left Mykolaiv, and people who lost their jobs stayed. Now, they need humanitarian aid, and the volunteers keep on providing people in need with humanitarian aid and drinking water.

Despite the barbarism of the Russia-initiated war, Mykolaiv stays strong and demonstrates decisiveness and resistance, supporting the army and believing in Ukraine’s victory. With civilians and defenders fighting on their own fronts for months of suffering, Mykolaiv will never give up until Ukraine wins the war.
