While Russian war crimes on the liberated Ukrainian territories are being documented and published, many stories remain untold. On the occupied territories, Russian occupiers normalize lawlessness, persecuting those who disagree with the “new regime”.
Since 2014, the occupied parts of Ukraine ended up in the gray area of law, with quasi-judicial procedures, trials, detentions, and death sentences. While Russia-controlled territories remain inaccessible to international investigators, the permissiveness of the aggressor only grows.
Every day of Russian occupation costs human lives, and the world needs to know about silent crimes as well – no matter how carefully Russia tries to hide them.
UKRAINE IN FLAMES project is created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center and NGO “Euroatlantic Course”. We are aiming at searching a loud support for Ukraine in the war started by Russia on the 24th of February 2022.
