How Ukrainian museums survived two years of war

How Ukrainian museums survived two years of war. Ukraine in Flames #615

Ukrainian museums, like most cultural institutions, have been going through difficult times since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. Evacuations, destruction of property and occupations, theft of collections, and reduction of funding put museums in a position of survival and preservation.

Since one of the main goals of Russia is the destruction of Ukrainian statehood, it is evident that one of the goals is the destruction of cultural and historical identity. That is why museums are essential in this challenging time for Ukraine.

The support of cultural institutions plays a vital role in the future of Ukraine because historical events will largely shape the stability of future generations.
