If not NATO, then who? Securing Ukraine’s future

If not NATO, then who? Securing Ukraine’s future. Ukraine in Flames #627

Together with the formation of national states, they began forming various alliances and associations. The totality of these alliances created a certain balance in the world security system.

Ukraine is directing all its diplomatic efforts to join NATO as one of the world’s most reliable guarantors of security. Russia’s constant military threat from the east requires Kyiv to find the most effective security guarantees.

At the same time, Ukraine, even now, even without being a member of NATO, acted as a shield that was able to repel the Russian invasion in 2022 and continues to deter it in 2024, despite minimal resources. Therefore, for their security in the strategic dimension, Western leaders are obliged, in one way or another, to integrate Ukraine into the alliance’s security system.
