Ukraine Peace Summit: Results and Prospects

Ukraine Peace Summit: Results and Prospects. Ukraine in Flames #628

The international security system is experiencing one of the biggest crises since World War II due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Many international institutions have proven their inability to protect the global order from the aggression of great powers.

Any war ends with negotiations, and any major war ends with changes in the world’s system of checks and balances. The Peace Summit of Ukraine is designed not only to put an end to Russia’s international encroachment on foreign territories but also to shape the agenda for future security guarantees.

Despite the Kremlin’s demonstrative rejection of this summit, which indicated its unwillingness to end the war and occupation, a large number of world leaders on this platform agreed that such behaviour was unacceptable. That is why further summits are an opportunity to take proactive steps on the diplomatic battlefield with the Russian Federation.

Guests:

  • Oleksandr Merezhko, MP
  • Oleksandr Chupak, head of economic programmes at the Ukrainian Strategic Studies Centre
  • Yevhen Magda, Director of the Institute of World Policy
