Ukraine In Flames: The growing Russian atrocity urges a more decisive response from NATO

Ukraine In Flames #24: The growing Russian atrocity urges a more decisive response from NATO

On March 13, Russia launched a series of air-to-surface missile strikes on the Yavoriv military range. A total of 30 cruise missiles were fired. As a result, 35 people were killed and 134 were injured. The Yavoriv military range is located 35 kilometers from the territory of Poland – 35 kilometers from the territory of a NATO member state. Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s western borders, trying to cut supplies of arms and supplies from Western allies to Ukraine. The last large-scale attack on Ukraine’s western region took place on March 28.

“An attack on one ally will meet with a decisive response from the whole alliance”, – Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO said and continued – ‘“Russian invasion of Ukraine and military integration with Belarus create a new security reality on the European continent. So we need to reset NATO military posture for this new military reality”.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly called for a no-fly zone which would stop aircrafts over Ukraine. But a no-fly zone could push NATO countries including the USA, the UK and most of Europe into direct conflict with Russia – a World War III. The Allied states have claimed during the latest NATO Summit that they would take action if chemical weapons were used in Ukraine by the Russian aggressor. Jake Sullivan, US President’s National Security Adviser, says the United States and its NATO allies have taken into account in their planning the possibility that Russia could invade Alliance territory.

Would Russia take a step to attack NATO, an alliance of 30 countries, and thus lay the foundations for World War III? Find out in # 24 “Ukraine in Flames”.
