Kyiv, 21 January 2015 – “The night in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone same as yesterday passed in a tense way. Militants fired at our military using all types of weapons. In the area of 29th and 31st checkpoints Ukrainian military stopped the advance of Russian-and-terrorist troops,” informed Leonyd Matyukhin, ATO spokesman via Skype at a briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center. From 18.00 bandits started firing at Ukrainian servicemen from tank weapons in the area of Donetsky locality.
Ukrainian Armed Forces units proceed with active actions at the Donetsk airport. From 18.04 at the Luhansk, Debaltseve and Donetsk directions terrorists shelled with BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers four times Krymske, twice Nyzhnyoteple, Tonenke, Pisky as well as once Tryokhizbenka, Movotoshkivske, Vilkhove, Toshkivka, Krasnohorivka and Tonenke.
At 00.10 there was an engagement near Maryinka. In Mariupol area it was calm at night. “From 23.45 till 00.25 in Chermalyk area bandits used small arms, afterwards it was quiet until 5 am. ATO forces were fired upon a total of 76 times in the last day,” added Leonyd Matyukhin.
