Kyiv, February 18, 2015. The premier of the new play “Hotel Europe” by Bernard-Henri Levy is scheduled for February 21 in the National Opera of Ukraine. The play was written during events at EuroMaidan, reflecting the feelings of Ukrainian people one year ago. “Hotel Europe” is a metaphor of Europe’s weak and ambiguous policy, which is followed by the current military confrontation between Ukraine and Russia. “If Europe wants to adhere to its anti-fascist values than bear in mind that Russian Putinism is fascism,” said Bernard-Henri Levy at the briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Mr. Levy also expressed his respect and admiration toward Ukrainian servicemen who are fighting near Debaltseve. “Ukrainian soldiers in Debaltseve deserve the praise of the entire world. The fact that Ukrainian forces had to retreat is only one of the stages of the war. Even if Ukraine lost this battle, it does not mean that it lost in this war”, – emphasized the French political journalist.
When talking about Minsk negotiations on February 12, Bernard-Henri Levy noted that there was a positive outcome for Ukraine. It received some time to take a breath, regain its strength and continue to resist the aggressor.
