About Yevhen Novikov’s resistance to the occupation of Kharkiv region

“Yes, there were people who supported the “Russian world”. Those who agreed to become heads of administrations. At first glance, they were ideological. But when you learn more about them later, you realize that it was simple mercantilism, envy and a thirst for some kind of revenge. That is, they didn’t achieve anything in Ukraine, but here they were given power, money, and opportunities. And they were ready to ‘wave the saber’ in all directions for this. Unfortunately, there have always been such people and will always be,” says Yevhen Novikov, director of the Vilkhuvatka Lyceum.

In 2022, the Vilkhuvatka community in the Kharkiv region was invaded by Russian troops. The occupation lasted almost six and a half months.
