February 21-24, Severodonetsk
From February 21 till February 24 Severodonetsk will host the workshop “Modern methods of museum work” for museum workers of Luhansk and Donetsk region. This workshop takes place in Severodontesk within the project Rediscovering the historical heritage of eastern Ukraine – “Under construction: Museum open II”.
During the workshop, participants will see the results of the expedition to 31 museums in Donetsk and Luhansk region for 21 days, the project “Yellow Line” and curatorial exhibitions in four Donbas museums. The participants will also see Belgian architectural heritage in Lysychansk. The presentation of the book “Steel in the Steppe. View from Ukraine” with the participation of Luke Jacobs, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine will also take place. Special guest – Gordon Filevych, a museum expert (Canada).
In addition, there will be a huge amount of lectures and discussions. The main topic – the modernization of the methods and formats of museum’s work, reorganization of museums.
The speakers of the workshop – experts in the field of communications, artists, representatives of museums and cultural institutions: Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after D.I. Yavornytsky, National Art and Culture Museum Complex “Mystetskyi Arsenal”, Museum of Totalitarian Regimes “Territory of Terror” etc.
