Kyiv, September 2, 2016. Yesterday for the first time in several months militants did not fire a single time from heavy weapons. Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no lethal casualties, and one serviceman was wounded in action, said Colonel Andriy Lysenko, spokesman of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine on ATO-related issues, at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Nevertheless, he added, Russian occupational troops’ command issued a permit to use artillery during the hours of darkness.

In the Donetsk sector hostilities continued from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. “Militants’ provocative attacks took place at the Svitlodarsk bulge (Troitske, Luhanske), in Verkhniotoretske, Avdiivka industrial area and Nevelske. Russia-backed militants were only firing from small arms and grenade launchers. Moreover, a reconnaissance flight of a hostile unmanned aerial vehicle took place in the Donetsk sector,” informed the spokesman.

Three militant attacks took place in the Mariupol sector – in Mariinka and Hranitne, and lasted 10-30 minutes. “Occupants only used small arms,” said Col. Lysenko. The armistice was holding in the Luhansk sector.

According to the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, another consignment of supplies for militants came from Russia. “Five tanks with fuel and lubrication materials arrived at Rovenky station, four tanks carrying diesel fuel, three railway cars with ammunition, two T-62 tanks and two trucks were transported to Ilovaisk station,” said Col.
