Militants focus attacks on Shyrokyne (Mariupol sector), Popasna district (Luhansk sector) and Avdiivka (Donetsk sector), while new batch of enforcement from Russia arrives in Sukhodilsk.
A hostile sniper was shelling positions of Ukrainian troops in Pavlopil, informed the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on ATO related issues Colonel Andriy Lysenko at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center. In the Mariupol sector the situation was restless almost along the entire front line – from Krasnohorivka to Shyrokyne. Militants started shooting at 1 a.m. and used heavy weapons. “Occupants were actively using artillery on Shyrokyne, launching 74 shells of 122 mm. Mortar fire was registered in the vicinity of Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Talakivka, Lebedynske and Slavne,” said Col. Lysenko. In total, militants launched 167 of 82 mm and 120 mm mortar shells at Ukrainian positions in the Mariupol sector.
The situation in the Luhansk sector was restless in the Popasna district only. Russia-backed militants launched eight mortar shells near Novozvanivka and Novooleksandrivka,” added the spokesman.
Number of attacks in the Donetsk sector decreased. Militants are shelling the positions near Avdiivka launching 46 mortar shells and opening fire from small arms and grenade launchers. According to Col. Lysenko, another armed provocation took place near Luhanske settlement.
Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no losses in combat yesterday, and two troops were wounded.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, military echelon with six carriages of ammunition arrived at Sukhodilsk railway station from Russia.
