Meanwhile, law enforcement officers detained a militant known under nickname “Tsygan”. He was guarding militants’ headquarters – occupied building of local prosecutor’s office – in 2014. “The militant saw other people’s stolen property being brought to the headquarters and its owners tortured in cellars. He disagreed with such methods and started keeping watch at a militants’ checkpoint near Yampil. Finally, he went to Russia in a month and later returned to Bakhmut where he was detained,” said Col. Motuzyanyk.
Speaking of operative situation, in Donetsk sector militants conducted 10 ceasefire violations, two of which involved precision shooting. Main hostilities occurred near Avdiivka between 20:00 and midnight. Moreover, Russia-backed militants violated the ceasefire at Svitlodarsk area, in Kamianka and near Donetsk airport. The ceasefire held near Horlivka yesterday, informed the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Col. Oleksandr Motuzyanyk during a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Militants conducted 17 attacks in Mariupol sector yesterday. They shelled Maryinka with mortars three times during the hours of darkness. “Nevertheless, the largest number of attacks as usually was recorded in Pavlopil – Shyrokyne frontline. Militants were shooting both during the day and at night. In addition to light weapons, they used armor,” said the spokesman.
In Luhansk sector, Russian proxies conducted two ceasefire violations in Lobacheve and Novooleksandrivka yesterday. No heavy weapons were used.
