ATO spokesman: Militants fired 115 times at ATO forces in the last day

Kyiv, 23 January 2015 – “Last day in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone was tense. Engagements were observed at three combat directions, ATO forces were fired upon a total of 115 times including with BM-21 multiple rocker launcher systems, artillery, mortars, anti-tank missile systems, self-propelled artillery systems and small arms,” reported Leonyd Matyukhin, ATO spokesman via Skype at a briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center. Main part of shelling and engagements occurred in the day time in Mariupol area, last shots were fired at 14.15 near Chermalyk locality. The night in the ATO zone was more or less calm.

From 18.00 to 06.00 militants fired 21 times at Ukrainian military positions. Bandits shelled with Grad multiple rocket launchers Krymske, Tonenke, Debaltseve. Used mortars, artillery and self-propelled artillery systems to shell Krymske, four times Stanytsia Luhanska, Pryshyb, Petrivka, Tryokhizbenka, Opytne, Maryinka, Zolote, Semygirja, Kamjanka, Mykolayivka, Shakhta Poltavska and twice Yunokomunarivsk. “In the last day one UAV flight was spotted at 13.07 near Krymske locality. In Luhansk region terrorists shelled localities 8 times,” added Leonyd Matyukhin.
