189 Ukrainians at home

189 Ukrainians returned from captivity during the eleventh exchange in 2024.
Among those released:
87 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (17 of them from the TRO),
43 from the NGU,
33 from the BGSU,
24 from the Navy.

These are the defenders of Azovstal, Mariupol, Chernobyl, Zmeiny Island, as well as fighters from different frontline areas. Two civilians captured in Mariupol also returned home.

Many of them spent more than two and a half years in captivity, suffering from severe injuries, the effects of mine-blast trauma and exacerbated chronic illnesses.

The exchange took place with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates.
