In Donetsk sector, Russian proxies reduced the geography of attacks to Zaitseve, Avdiivka and Pisky, where militants were actively using light weapons, including sniping rifles near Donetsk airport. Hostilities in Avdiivka continued over eight hours. Russian proxies also opened fire from mortars. “Militants wounded 62-year-old inhabitant of Avdiivka. The man was taken to hospital. In total, seven hostile attacks were registered in Donetsk sector yesterday,” reported Ukrainian Ministry of Defense spokesman on ATO Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk at a press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Militants violated the ceasefire three times in Luhansk sector yesterday. They fired three mortar rounds at Ukrainian positions in Syze village after 02:00, and attacked with small arms on the outskirts of Stanytsia Luhanska. In Novooleksandrivka militants conducted brief mortar attacks in the evening.
In Mariupol sector 19 ceasefire violations were recorded. In southern part of the sector armed enemy provocations continued around the clock. Russia-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions in Krasnohorivka with mortars. Enemy snipers were active near Dokuchaevsk.
Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred no fatal casualties yesterday. Two servicemen were wounded in Avdiivka. “Moreover, two more servicemen were wounded by an IED during engineering works,” added the spokesman.
