Kyiv, 3 July 2014 – Ukrainian border guards will be sent to border crossing points on the Russian territory. Such agreement was reached by the foreign affairs ministers of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France. “Ukrainian border guards will get access to border crossing points on the Russian territory. Russia made such a commitment. That’s the right step that will enable effective control over our state border and protection from Russian terrorists, weapons and bandits that until recently were getting on the Ukrainian territory with no obstacles,” Danylo Lubkivsky, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs commented on the agreement reached in Berlin, at a briefing in the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

The diplomat called on the European states to approach all statements on events in Ukraine made by the President of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin, in a pragmatic and critical way. Russia is leading aggression towards Ukraine, dialogue with Russia “needs be conducted thoroughly”. “We are warning the whole international society against becoming hostages of the alternative reality which Kremlin tries to impose in such a consistent and thoughtless way. A recent example of such ideology became President Putin’s speech at a meeting with the Russian diplomatic corps. “That’s an example of the alternative reality that is actually undermining the basis of the international system,” underlined Danylo Lubkivsky.
