Synergy of the civil and public sectors for strengthening the protection of the rights of civilians affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine

The NGO Cherkasy Human Rights Center conducted an analysis of the direct and indirect damage caused to the territorial communities of Ukraine during the 2 years of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The findings of the analysis of damages in Cherkasy, Uman, Smila communities of the Cherkasy region; Sumy and Okhtyrka communities of the Sumy region; Sviatohorsk and Kramatorsk communities of the Donetsk region; Semenivska and Snovska communities of the Chernihiv region will be presented at the event. The participants will also discuss the implementation of the practices of local self-government responses to the consequences of war crimes.

On June 25, 2024, from 12.00 to 14.00, Ukraine Crisis Media Center (Kyiv, Khreshchatyk 2, Ukrainian House) will host a public presentation of the results of the organization’s work in the communities, which will discuss:

– Reports on the consequences of the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation in the communities;

– Problems faced by local governments in recording crimes and overcoming the consequences of the war crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

The media, local self-government and executive authorities, as well as representatives of national and international organizations involved inhumanitarian response activities in Ukraine are invited to participate in the event.

The working languages ​​of the event are Ukrainian and English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the event.

The project is implemented as part of the project “Synergy of the civil and public sectors for strengthening the protection of the rights of the civilians affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine” and aims to draw attention to the crimes committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine and to improve the level of community support in order to overcome the consequences of war crimes.
