Day of the National Flag of Ukraine

The blue and yellow flag is a symbol of our national identity and the desire for freedom. Our flag unites Ukrainians in all corners of the world because it is the flag of free people of a free country! May this day remind us of our devotion to our native land.

The national flag was used to cover those killed during the Revolution of Dignity. Under the blue and yellow colours, our army liberated two-thirds of the occupied Donbas from Russian invaders in 2014. Now there is a flag in every liberated settlement of Kharkiv, Kherson and Kyiv regions. Today, liberated prisoners from Russian captivity wear the Ukrainian flag. The flag also accompanies the Heroes’ shield. The flag is always with our soldiers – on their chevrons and in their positions. And during the Soviet era, the flag was banned.

Soon, our flag will be flying again on every piece of land across 603,628 km².

Happy National Flag Day of Ukraine!

Glory to the Armed Forces! Glory to Ukraine!
