Kherson is back home, and Ukrainians could not be happier about it! Both the city’s residents and Ukrainians in the rest of the country took to the streets in the days following the liberation to celebrate the long-awaited de-occupation.
But in what conditions did Russia leave Kherson? The answer had been expected before: lots of war crimes reports would follow, but as the investigators started their work, they found that even tougher tortures had been used against the civilians in the Kherson region than in the territories liberated before. In particular, the occupiers kept men and women in the same cells, while no such cases were found in other regions.
