The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has documented the killing of at least 441 civilians by the Russian military.
The Office found that the killings of civilians were not confined to specific areas, although some areas were affected more than others. For example, the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, which was under the control of Russian troops from March 5 to 30, 2022, suffered from a particularly high number of murders.
