In December 2023, it became known about 3800 civilians who were tortured by the Russian military. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General. The office also noted that the numbers could be much higher.
More than 1,100 criminal proceedings are currently being investigated into torture by the occupiers. More than 80 people have been notified of suspicion, 18 of whom have already been convicted.
